Singapore — Coastes, Siloso Beach, Singapore
An evening at a beach bar
June 2015
Coastes was a bar/restaurant down on Siloso Beach, Singapore.
The restaurant was a nice little place where they try to ’sell’ the beach ideal. Hence, it all felt a little false, just like the rest of Siloso Beach, Singapore.
When I turned up at Coastes, I got directed to a table, and I had to work out what I wanted from the menu and order at the till.
Coastes is one of those places that puts your Wi-Fi password on the receipt, so make sure you hang on to it.
I went for the "Big Bad Wolf Pizza” — apologies to Dr Who — which was pretty good. Service was quick, the beer was cold, and the pizza was delicious.

Despite trying too hard to be a real beach bar, Coastes served an excellent pizza with a cold beer and some decent Wi-Fi.
I would go back.
