Malaysia — Road trip to Malacca — Dasom Inn Hotel, Malacca, Malaysia

Malacca — one crazy town!

June 2015

By the time I finally visited Malacca, I had been living in Malaysia for over two years, and yet Malacca was only a few hours up the road.

Malacca (Malay: Melaka) has an interesting history and is connected to the founding of Singapore and also the history of Penang. It all comes down to spices, ships, ports and trade. You can get a pretty good account over on Wikipedia.

In Malacca, I stayed at the Dasom Inn Hotel, 28 Jalan Tukang Emas 75200, Malacca, Melaka, Malaysia, which was right in the centre of the old part of town — it was ideally situated for exploring the city.

The hotel was cheap, and my room was very pleasant, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. I was slightly worried when I arrived and walked down to my room as I saw a large rat vanish down a drain.

The room came with breakfast.
