Exploring the Malaqa House Muzeum, Malacca, Malaysia

June 2015

Malaqa House Muzeum, Malacca, Malaysia was an odd sort of place — it was a museum (allegedly), yet some items appeared to be for sale.

One of the most interesting things about the museum was that it did have a handy display that showed the structure of the building. The display explained how that structure kept the building cool by separating it into several zones.

The inside of the museum appeared to be a bit chaotic.

And I did like the central light well with a palm tree growing on it.

The house I had in Malaysia also had a light well. However, mine was enclosed at the bottom. In contrast, the traditional light well in the photo above not only lets in light deep into the interior of the building but also helped the circulation of air.
