Dim sum for lunch — how could you go wrong?

April 2015

This morning I was out with friends for breakfast at Restaurant Changman 常满, a very popular restaurant and well worth a visit.

We picked the items from the menu, filled in the form, and handed it in. It couldn’t be easier.

We had some egg tarts.

And I suspected things were delivered in threes, as four is seen as unlucky.

And then these arrived. A group of four. So, that trashes my unlucky four theory.

They were followed by these — another group of four.

So, maybe my theory of food being served in threes, as four is unlucky, was wrong?

The food at Restaurant Changman 常满 was great.

I was back a few days later to try their Char Siew Rice, which had been recommended to me by a friend. The dish didn’t look like much, but for RM6.50 (£1.30; US$2), it was a bargain and very, very tasty, if a little salty.

The Char Siew Rice set consisted of pork (very tasty), slightly salty rice, a dipping sauce and a vegetable soup in chicken stock. An excellent midday meal.
